A 14 DAY PILGRIMAGE TO FRANCE

Upon arrival at the Paris International Airport, we will be welcomed and check in to the hotel.

 

Overnight stay in Paris (B L D)

Our pilgrimage begins with panoramic tour of Paris which includes visit to the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees and Palace of Versailles to experience the unique expression of French art during the 17th and 18th century. This evening we will enjoy a Seine River cruise.

After breakfast, we visit the Cathedral of Notre Dame, one of the most famous cathedral that is devoted to the Blessed Mother; and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Sacre Coeur). Later in the afternoon, visit the Shrine of Vincent de Paul and Rue de Bac, the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, where St. Catherine Laboure, a member of the Daughters of Charity, received her apparitions of Mary.

This morning we depart Paris to visit The Cathedral in Chartres, the 13th-century cathedral building is literally a Bible in stone, with over 4,000 sculpted figures and 5,000 figures in the stained glass windows, illustrating the Bible and lives of the Saints. Later we continue our journey to visit the town of Lisieux, home of St. Therese the Carmelite nun famously known as “The Little Flower”. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Therese and visit the site of the Lisieux family home, Les Buissonets, the Carmelite Convent Chapel where St. Therese and her parents are buried.

This morning we travel to visit the Le Mont Saint Michel, surrounded by a magnificent bay which gives you breathtaking views. The Le Mont St. Michele has been now home to the monastic congregation which was built and consecrated by Aubert, Bishop of Avranches at the request of Michael the Archangel.

This morning we will depart for Nevers and continue through the scenic Loire Valley. St. Bernadette lived for 12 years as a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Nevers. We will visit St. Gildard Convent, the site where St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body rests. While here, we will pray and reflect upon the life of the beloved Saint as well as celebrate Holy Mass.

This morning, we visit the Shrine of Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun and mystic, who promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Visit the Chapel of the Visitations and the Chapel of St. Claude and enjoy an audio-visual presentation. Later we continue on to Ars, to visit the Shrine of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of priests.

We begin our day with a visit to the Basilica of the Visitation to pray before the relics of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane Frances of Chantal. We continue on to visit St. Maurice Church and Annecy Castle. Later, in the afternoon visit the Church of St. Francis de Sales, the burial place for both saints until the French Revolution.

 

Overnight stay in Ars (B L D)

We begin our day with a city tour of Avignon – a City that was the seat of the Catholic popes and remained under papal rule until becoming part of France. Proceed to Palais des Papes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe, Pont d’Avignon that contains the remains of the Saint-Bénezet.

This morning we journey to Lourdes through the beautiful landscapes of Pyrenees in Southern France. Upon our arrival at Lourdes, we will celebrate Holy Mass at the Rosary Basilica. In the afternoon we proceed with a walking tour of Lourdes to visit the Upper & Lower Basilicas; the Grotto of Massabielle; Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette; and Cachot, the home of St. Bernadette at the time of the apparitions.

Later in the evening, we will join the procession of the Blessed Sacrament and the Blessing of the Sick. After dinner, we will return to the Sanctuary for the Rosary and Candlelight Procession.

 

Overnight stay in Lourdes (B L D)

The morning is free for Adoration, Confession, and a time of private devotion, reciting the Rosary and bath in the miraculous spring. This evening we may again participate in the Candlelight Procession.
